Indulge me for a moment – or a long paragraph – or a few …
Most of the time we meet our Sale Families it is for the first time. A friend, realtor, or neighbor has recommended Blue Tape Sales to them, sometime it’s our website or that they’ve been to our sales. This sale is for a family member – not by blood, but through life’s happenstance and forever ago, Eddie became an Uncle. Eddie passed away this year and since you will be coming into his home for the sale, I want you to have a glimpse of who he was …
My sister-in-law grew up in the home next to Eddie’s family. He took care of his father when he was ill and stayed in the family home the remainder of his own life – and always – and in many ways – took care of people. Eddie was pure joy and smiles and kindness. At family gatherings, the women always received a box of chocolates. He loved, and had a second home in, Vegas. He loved Carnival glass and collecting – e-ver-y-thing … not as investment, but because it make him happy. And for the most part, he didn’t part with much over the years … we have (what we believe to be) his original Superman sweatshirt from when he was a child … he was 73 when he passed.
He was ill for several years and some of us never knew it how ill … he was about living, not dying. We are honored to be hosting this sale and to have been chosen to navigate through his decades of belongings and THOUZands of items of “happy”. We hope you’ll come by for a visit – we look forward to sharing his joy : )
